The greatest PC game ever made? - Akai - 08-15-2013
So I just went grocery shopping and as I am one to do, I stopped to browse the magazines. There was a PC one that said it had the 100 Best PC Games of All Time. How could I resist? Since I didn't want to melt my icecream as I read it though, I skipped to the top 3. 3 and 2 didn't surprise me much, Half Life 2 and Mass Effect 2. The number 1 game on PC ever made though was Skyrim. That surprised me. Don't get me wrong, Skyrim is a very good game and it deserves to be high on the list. But the number one PC game ever? EVER?! That got me thinking, what does everyone else think the best game on PC is?
Please remember that peoples opinions are their own and its okay to not like things, just don't be a dick about it.
Personally I would say Dragon Age is the best game on PC I ever played, considering I've beaten it so many times and even now I'm like 'maybe I should do a playthrough...' I love the plot lines and the moral choices of it and all the characters I found were really good and it makes me sad I can't make them all fall in love with me without horrible things happening to relationships later.

I'm a huge fan of the Counter-Strike series, source specifically I've accumulated hundreds of hours playing the games, mainly because I enjoy how many community maps and game modes there are, as with all Valve games, the community input into making the games matches and often surpasses the developer input, and i think that should be used in most games, if not all.
p.s. was this magazine P.C. Gamer, I remember picking up a copy with the top 100 PC games of all time. (we have our own version in the UK, not sure if the US on is different)

I don't play pc games too much but the one i play the most is probably minecraft.

XD Skyrim is no number one PC game of all times, mybe in sales but not top in any other section of Great PC Games. I say that Witcher 2 was better, heck the original Witcher was better than skyrim.

In terms of pure gameplay experience, you can't beat Quake 3 Arena (and all its mods). It's focus was only gameplay, and threw away all pretense of telling a good story. Its bots were really good, and the best part of it was the multiplayer- play with friends, play with strangers, or just jump around on your own. Learn a multitude of skills to pull off crazy shots and maneuvers, or just play however you want. It was fast paced, fun, and just plain amazing. It spawned an uncountable number of mods, and is still played actively today in the form of Quake 3: Challenge ProMode Arena, and also as Quake Live (which I play).
No words... just pure amazingness.
